The Salish Kootenai College Extension Office supports and helps to maintain six community gardens on the Flathead reservation. The Community gardens provide an opportunity for our people to grow and consume local, nutritious produce at very little cost to them. This also provides fresh produce for the gardeners, their families, and elders all around the community. The SKC garden delivers fresh produce weekly during harvest to the Senior Centers, Boys and Girls Clubs, and various community members who need them. This helps to form a sense of ownership and community amongst the local people.
